All fish must be caught by rod & reel with artificial lures only. All fish must be caught during the day of the event during allotted times. No sharing or pooling of fish is allowed except in team tournaments. Any person fishing out of the designated areas will be disqualified.
An angler/team may only win one place per division. No radios or cell phones may be used to contact event participants or non-participants. Non-participants are not allowed to fish in event participants’ boats. Contestants fishing as a team must fish no farther than 500 yards apart. No drugs or alcohol are allowed on boats during the event hours. All state and federal laws apply. All Coast Guard and Texas Parks & Wildlife’s regulations apply.
All winners may be subject to a polygraph test at a later date at the request of only the weighmaster, tournament directors or contestants before collecting their prize.
Protests made by contestants must be made no later than 30 minutes after the last fish are weighed. Protest must be accompanied by a $200 deposit which will be refunded if the rules committee up holds the protest.
In the event of a tie, the first fish or fishes weighed shall be the winner. Tournament officials have the right to refuse any tournament entry. Any angler not following the previous rules can be disqualified from this or any future event.
The tournament directors may cancel any event for any reason. In the event of hazardous weather, the tournament director may cancel the event. If cancelled, the event will be postponed until the following weekend. If you cannot participate, you will be refunded your entry fee or given a raincheck for another event.
Academy gift certificates may be substituted for cash if 175 entries are not received. Prizes may change if minimums are not met. All events must have sufficient participation or postponements, cancellations or prize adjustments may occur.
Location
Galveston Bay Tournaments: All fishing must be done in the Galveston Bay Complex satellites & bayous. The boundaries are North- San Jacinto River/ Trinity River, East- Oyster Bayou, West- Chocolate Bay/ Christmas Bay. Follets Island to Gilcrest beachfront 1/2 mile off the beach.
Matagorda Tournaments: All fishing must be done in the Matagorda Bay Complex satellites & bayous. The boundaries are East and West Matagorda Bay, Lavaca Bay, Port O’Conner, Espiritu Santa Bay, Carancahua Bay, Turtle Bay, Oyster Lake, Pringle Lake and 1/2 mile off the beach.
Weigh in site varies depending on tournament date. Check schedule for sites.
Launch /Wade Areas
You may launch your boat at any Galveston Bay Complex location. There is no morning check in. You can not leave the boat launch or walk in wade until 3:00a.m.
Times
Fishing times 5 a.m. to weigh in deadline. You can not leave the boat launch or walk in wade until 3:00 a.m. Weigh ins are Saturday from 3:30-4:30 pm. Must be present & in line by deadline or you will be disqualified.
Artificial only, pier, wade, boat, rod & reel only. No natural baits are allowed on the boat or in possession during the event.
